Do not anger = Let go of what has passed.
Do not worry = Let go of what may come.
Be grateful = Let go of what is happening now.
Be true to your way and your being = Don’t try to figure anything out, don’t try to make anything happen.
Show compassion to yourself and others = Relax right now and rest.

Rest of course is not about doing nothing; it is about being in this wide open state of mind, our true nature, in which we do not get caught up in anything. When that happens pure compassion shines forward—a compassion that doesn’t change according to circumstances. And in that state of mind of “rest,” we act out our daily life today. This is the Secret of Inviting Happiness through Many Blessings. The Spiritual Medicine for All Illness.

“Silence is something that comes from your heart, not from outside. Silence doesn’t mean not talking and not doing things; it means that you are not disturbed inside, there is not talking inside. If you’re truly silent, then no matter what situation you find yourself in you can enjoy the silence.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
