SUMMARY:Aussie Reiki Retreat | Mission Beach | 25-30 August 2019
DESCRIPTION:This our 11th year holding the Retreat at Sanctuary Retreat. It is a stunning environment in amongst the natural tropical rainforest. Walk down through the rainforest and in 10 minutes you are standing on pristine beach amongst the coconut palms. Most days 2 metre high cassowaries are viewed by retreatees in their natural habitat\, often with babies at their side. \nThe Retreat is 4 full days (26\, 27\, 28\, 29 August). Arrive on the afternoon of the 25th and leave the morning of the 30th. \nDuring the retreat we will discuss the spiritual aspects of Mikao Usui’s teaching and how to apply them in our daily lives. \nHere’s an example of what we do: we begin each day with a 45-minute silent meditation during which Frans performs Reiju for everybody. We will practice techniques like Hatsurei-ho\, Joshin Kokyu Ho\, Hands on Healing\, chanting mantras and much more… AND if the weather allows\, we might do a walking meditation through the retreat centre. \nWe practice 2.5 hours in the morning and 2.5 hours in the afternoon\, with lots of time in the evening to share healing\, stories\, and fun with your fellow retreatees. \nFrans has been hosting these Reiki Retreats for many years now and infuses them with great humour\, knowledge of Japanese spiritual teachings\, and his own depth of practice of Mikao Usui’s teachings. Bronwen enjoys helping students recognise the amazing in their daily lives by using the system of Reiki. \nCome and share with all the other participants to create a wonderful Reiki community. \n******* \nFocus on esoteric Japanese practices to stimulate and define your Reiki practise. Immerse yourself in an intense 4 days of deep spiritually energetic work. \nBe supported by your fellow students who practice the same teachings as you and by the Reiki teachers\, Frans and Bronwen Stiene. \nThis retreat focuses on delving deeper into your Reiki and/or Meditation journey through the practices of Japanese Esoteric meditations and healing techniques. \nThe retreat is perfect for anyone who is interested in deepening their meditation practice or spiritual journey. \nSome of the practices include the whole group\, while others are in pairs or in smaller groups – depending on the practice and technique. \nThese teachings are very unique and not often taught by many modern meditation teachers. Some of these are traced back to the 7th and 8th century Japan\, so we will be tapping into ancient Japanese spiritual traditions. \nThey are: \n\nsitting meditation – mindfulness practice\, chanting\, moving your energy\nmoving meditation – walking meditation for example\nsitting/moving meditations – old ancient Shinto\, Shugendo\, and Buddhist practices\n\nDue to Frans’ unique journey he often includes some 4000 year old Wu (Chinese: shamanic) practices within these retreats. He was taught these ancient teachings by his late Taoist Master. \nGetting There\nJust make sure if you’re catching public transport to Mission Beach that you arrive in Cairns before 1pm on the 25th. \nFor those who need it we will organise a bus to take students down on the afternoon of the 25th from Cairns Hotels or Airport to Sanctuary Retreat around 1pm and back from Sanctuary Retreat to Cairns on the morning of the 30th. Let us know if you’d like to share the bus and its costs (approx $20-$40 a trip). \nWe can also stop in Innisfail on the drive down to the Retreat to pick up any groceries you might need. \nAccommodation\nAccomodation is not included in the course fee. The variety of accommodation at Sanctuary Retreat gives everyone the opportunity to attend. There are the inexpensive rainforest huts which you can share with a friend\, amenities are shared as well. Then there are the canopy cabins with their own bathrooms and showers. \nOutside Cabin \nHut’s ensuite \nInside Cabin \nView from longhouse \nLonghouse restaurant and bar \nRestaurant \nMeals are not included in the course fee. Meals are also perfect at Sanctuary Retreat. The beautiful open kitchen in the middle of the rainforest gives you the opportunity to cook for yourself or you can just pop up the stairs and sit in luxury as you order top quality dishes that make Sanctuary Retreat unique – no camping fare here and the prices are just right too.
