Frans: Your explanations were simple as always. I learned something new listening to this about the precepts, that I hadn’t picked up from all the previous times I’ve heard you talk about the precepts 🙂 Thanks.
Hi Sundar,
Willing to share what you picked up this time about the precepts?
Frans
It was another subtle, but important shift. I’ve known and understood the precepts to be the foundation of the system of Reiki and the practice, and that living a life in accordance with the precepts was the secret of inviting happiness and the spiritual medicine for all illnesses. What struck me was when you said that the precepts ARE the great bright light! That took it a bit deeper for me. i.e. The precepts are not only the way to the great bright light state, but also the very state of the great bright light itself! It is the sign post, the tour guide, and the destination all at once 🙂
Hi Sundar,
Yes, the level III symbol and mantra DKM, literary translated as “Great Bright Light” is nothing other then the precepts. Both tell us the same thing, that we need to realize our true nature, oneness with the universe, except one does it in a symbolic meaning and the other in a more descriptive way.
It is only when we re-discover our true nature, the Great Bright Light, that we are free of anger and worry, that we can be honest, humble and compassionate.
So the precepts and the DKM are one and the same, just a different representation of our true nature. It is only through our own inner realizations that we start to see all of this in a direct way.
This therefore also points out that the system of Reiki is a spiritual practice and not just hands on healing. There are so many layers to discover within the system of Reiki, just amazing, it never stops!
