Mission Beach

Sanctuary Retreat
Mission Beach, Far North Queensland

Each year the International House of Reiki holds a Reiki Retreat in Mission Beach. This stunning environment is set in amongst the natural tropical rainforest. Walk down through the rainforest and in 15 minutes you are standing on pristine beach amongst the coconut palms. Most days 2 metre high cassowaries are viewed by retreatees in their natural habitat, often with babies at their side.

The 5 day Reiki Retreat is open to Reiki people from any lineage.

The teacher at this venue is Frans Stiene.

Reiki Treatments are available at Sanctuary during the Retreat with Frans Stiene.

Private Teachings are also available with IHReiki Senior Teacher, Frans Stiene.

One of the rainforest huts

The variety of accommodation at Sanctuary Retreat gives everyone the opportunity to attend. There are the inexpensive rainforest huts which you can have to yourself or share with a friend, amenities are shared as well. There is a sense of being deep in the rainforest in these huts - here you really become one with nature.

Canopy cabins have fabulous shower views

Then there are the canopy cabins with their own bathrooms and showers and balconies where you can sit in the nature and watch the ocean, the rainforest and the beauty of nature.

Meals are also perfect at Sanctuary Retreat. The beautiful open kitchen in the middle of the rainforest gives you the opportunity to cook for yourself or you can just pop up the stairs and sit in luxury as you order top quality dishes that make Sanctuary Retreat unique - no camping fare here and the prices are just right too. So, it's up to you how you spend your time at the Retreat and what it costs you.

About Sanctuary

With such a choice of stunning locations to choose for rest and recuperation, the number one activity is relaxation…
The favourite pastime of most our guests is simply to relax in one of the many stunning spots around Sanctuary. Indulge in a coffee on the verandah, a book in the lounges or hammocks, a board game in the longhouse or a refreshing dip in the pool. With both sun and shade all day, the pool garden can capture your attention for hours.

Under the canopy of the forest, it can feel as if time stands still. Weaving through the rainforest, a variety of beautiful walking tracks allow for easy exploration of the varied flora and fauna in the 50 acres of nature refuge that is Sanctuary.

Just metres from Sanctuary, beautiful Brooks beach contrasts the shady forest with golden sands and turquoise waters.  For the intrepid, a rock hop to the north reveals the beautiful Garners Beach, lined with mangroves and it's paradise view of the Barnard islands.  Along a short headland trail to the south can be found Bingil Bay and the many palm-fringed beaches making up the 25 kilometre stretch that is Mission Beach.

About Mission Beach

Mission Beach is the tropical paradise you've always known was out there
Mission Beach is one of the only two places in Australia that offers both Heritage listed rainforest and Great Barrier Reef in the one area. With little commercial development and just a small permanent population scattered over 23 kms of rainforest-fringed beaches, Mission Beach is a paradise waiting to be discovered.
